Most comedians would make their comedy special SPECIAL. Big lights, massive theatre, hundreds upon hundreds of adoring fans. But that is not the Russell Hicks way. This particular engagement was filmed to thirty people on a pre-lockdown night and the footage wasn't even supposed to see the light of day...
What this audience received was a rare experience to watch a comic known for making up everything on the spot, letting his mind fly to wherever it fancies, giving a raging stream of consciousness, never to be seen again...yet, luckily for you, we actually caught it on camera.
Unlike other productions, this is raw. It's unplanned, free. There are heckles, comebacks, callbacks, improvs, rants and indulgences, all occurring where comedy is meant to be; a dark, dingy basement in front of a plethora of people who don't have a clue who the comedian is or what to expect.
